gcycle.org - recycle your old gadgets

We are on a cleaning kick now that it is officially Spring. www.gcycle.org is a great site we recently stumbled upon. It lets you enter in your zip code, select a gadget (cell phones, batteries, computers, TV's, ect) and find nearby locations that will accept and recycle the gadgets for you. An incredibly convenient and quarky site that gives a second life to your gadgets instead of sending them straight to a landfill.

Out, damn'd spot! - Food Coloring

St. Patrick's Day has come and gone, but that green food coloring you used to celebrate the day may have left its mark on your clothes. So much for luck o' the Irish!

If you survived St. Patty's spotless, watch out for Easter. If you're dying your own Easter eggs, there is a big possibility that your clothes may become just as colorful! No one wants to be mistaken for a giant walking easter egg...

Have no fear - the Spin Cycle Stain Guru is here to provide you with easy at-home tips for the toughest of stains.

How to remove: Food Coloring Stains

1. Run the garment under cold water as quickly as possible to remove as much food coloring as possible.

2. Treat with a stain fighter to attack any lingering spots.

3. Rinse under cold water again.

4. If the stain persists, soak in a solution of 1 quart warm water, 1 dropps, and 1 tablespoon white vinegar. Soak for 15-20 minutes. Wash as usual using dropps, of course.

5. Be sure the stain has been removed before drying.

Check back for more stain-fighting tips from the Stain Guru!

Earth Day Resolution - Post Yours + Enter to Win Free dropps!

Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd. We were thinking it would be fun to come up with Earth Day Resolutions, just like New Years Resolutions, but focused on the planet.

Small changes can make a big impact. Since we are all about smart and easy ways to go green, we wanted to hear what small, but important lifestyle changes you are willing to make this Earth Day.

Will you make a promise to change all of your light bulbs, eat locally grown produce, use more public transportation, or vow to stop buying bottled water? What is your Earth Day Resolution? Your ideas can be practical or zany. We want to know what you are thinking. Post your resolutions!

Three Earth Day Resolution winners will receive a free 3-month supply of dropps in either fresh scent or scent + dye free. Winners will be chosen at random, but must include a thoughtful resolution. Posts will be accepted until April 7th. Be sure to include an email address in your comment or have it accessible in your profile. All prizes must be claimed within three days of the first email notifying the winner. After three days, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected.

The three winning resolution ideas will be posted on Earth Day.

Best Supporting Role by a laundry detergent: dropps in NBC's Lipstick Jungle

We were pretty excited to be included in this not so clean, but oh so steamy laundry scene between Brooke Shields' character and her on-screen hubby, Paul Blackthorne. It is episode #104 if you want to watch the whole thing.
