Entrepreneur.com + dropps

Last week we forgot to post a cool article that was posted on Earth Day on www.entrepreneur.com. It featured a few companies that try to make every day Earth Day and they included dropps. Thanks! We certainly appreciate the inclusion. Here is a link to the article: http://www.entrepreneur.com/management/operations/article192994.html

Go Green Expo - NYC

We had a blast at the Go Green Expo in New York City last weekend. We got to meet  and introduce lots of new people to dropps, which is always a thrill. It was awesome to see many light bulb moments when people realized that one dropps is equal to one cap full of traditional laundry detergent. Seeing that aha moment never gets old! We even got to chat up some eco-influencers. We grabbed Josh Dorfman of The Lazy Environmentalist out of the crowd and Ken Rother of Treehugger also swung by. Pretty cool. We also finally got to meet our west coast friends from gDiapers - they had a super cute booth and it was great to finally meet some of their crew!

The event was a total success and now we can't wait to get out, do more of them and meet more of you! If anyone knows of any awesome upcoming events in your community, definitely drop us a line.

Happy Earth Day! And the Winners Are...

Happy Earth Day everyone! We are excited to announce our three Earth Day Resolution winners. Overall the posts were incredibly thoughtful and doable. It really shows how little changes in our daily lives can add up to make a big impact. To us, everyday is Earth Day. It's all about smart and easy low impact choices.

Congratulations to the winners! Here are their posts:

Winner #1

I am going to get cloth napkins to reduce my paper towel usage, and actually remember to bring my reusable grocery bags to the store!

Already using reusable grocery bags, washing laundry with cold water, using less light and changed all our light bulbs, and some other things. I resolve to use less plastic (water bottles especially) and grow more of my own food.

I'm going to try to compost more of my household waste, and buy a clothesline for drying clothes, since there is no such thing as an Energy Star rated clothes dryer. I'm also going to make more beverages at home (iced tea, Crystal lite, etc) instead of buying pre-made drinks which use more plastic in order to reduce my waste.

Most clothes dryers use about the same amount of energy as each other, and they're one of the most energy consuming appliances in one's house, after the furnace and water heater.

5K Run for Clean Air - Philly

We sponsored the Clean Air Council 5K Run for Clean Air this past Saturday. It was a superb event on a beautiful Spring day. People were psyched to be outside and you could feel the energy of people's enthusiasm to run for a good cause. We had a great time talking with folks, sharing dropps and listening to some good tunes (the ice cream was also delicious).

Here are some pics from the event:

help - we're obsessed

help-i-have-a-headache     help-i-ve-cut-myself

help products totally fall into our category of smarter products and we are kind of obsessed. Not only is their packaging simple and genius, i.e. 100% compostable molded paper pulp, but they have a great sense of humor. We couldn't help ourselves from clicking on every option in the "help I'm bored" section. Check it out. Pretty cool how they just give you the bare boned product without all the hoopla. http://www.helpineedhelp.com/

Evo.com

We recently stumbled upon www.evo.com, which is a fantastic resource for all things green - products, services, information, ect. They just added dropps this week to their comprehensive list of products, which we are totally psyched about. Evo.com rates products on a scale of 1 to 5 green leaves (5 being as green as you can get). Great site that's definitely worth checking out.

Gaiam_recycling_bag_in_2We came across these stylish recycling bins from Gaiam while scoping out Evo.com's top 6 favorite recycle bins.
